King of Pop, Queen of Angels

In one day June 25th, 2009 The world lost two real icons, what a strange day, yet a good way to celebrate their lives and all they left behind, amazing work, true talent, and mostly a legacy.

By now the whole world knows of the death of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett . My first reaction to MJ's death was shock, as it must of been to most. Once the shock sets in there comes the sadness. Whether you are a fan of MJ or not, there is no denying his amazing talent and unique style and take in the world of music. A true pop icon that will continue to live for generations to come. Michael became the blue print
for so many artist we see today, and not one of them can say they were not inspired by him. Although part of his life was filled with controversy and accusations, there was still a part of Michael we could never put down, his talent, his amazing giving heart, his genius mind in producing and making videos, to his moonwalk and dance moves. He's been an icon for decades, from motown, to disco days, to tubular 80's pop that brought us thriller and was the first African American to be on MTV and now
a legend. One who's legacy will live on....The world will miss you Michael! Here are some tribute sets made by the poly community, who are all still in shock and sadden.

And now Farrah, who graced TV in the 70's with her big smile and beautiful golden hair. Her hair style was copied and everyone one young and old wanted to be her. I wasn't born yet, but i really cannot remember a moment in my life where i did not know of her, and the same with Michael Jackson. Farrah from the start charmed people and was know as the prettiest little girl in her town. In college she studied art and wanted to be an artist, maybe why she saw the world different then most and why she had such life that could not be contained or beaten. Farrah lost her life to cancer, but it was a battle she was so determined to win. She to is an icon, one that once hung on so many walls with her famous poster, where she is wearing the FAMOUS RED bathing suit, and her smile just shines. She will always be remembered as well, a true ANGEL.

Here are some poly sets made in her memory

My Pretty

: : T A R I N A T A R A N T I N O : :

Who doesn't love : : T A R I N A T A R A N T I N O : :..her sparkly designs just leave any girl wanting more. I love the color she uses, and all the shimmer she adds to her awesome hair clips, rings, bracelets and necklace...YUMMY.
Her recent collection is inspired by Wizard of Oz, but what i love is her unexpected take on it. She ads her own twist and concept to a classic tale we all adored as a child, and even as adults. Here is a look at her "My Pretty" collection

After the Rain, Comes the Rainbow!

Photobucket
Can't have the Rainbows without the rain. It's been raining off and on for two weeks now here in Philly, but i don't mind for some reason. Even though i don't mind the rain, i do do miss the sunshine and to brighten up the day i will post some awesome Rainbow pics.
I often wonder how and why the rainbow is in that exact color order, Red,Orange,Yellow,Green, blue and Violet?? I know how and why Rainbows come out, but Do we know why their colors are always in that order? I will look into it i guess.
Here are a few pictures, so that we can find a Rainbow in everyday items.

C@ndy Buffet

Scrapblog,Scrapblog,Scrapbook,Scrapbook,Trick or Treat,Trick or Treat
Candy buffets were everywhere these past two years.
Everywhere from weddings, birthdays to even baby showers.
Which i don't mind, because if you know me,
you would know that i am the biggest Candy Whore there is.
The above and below photos are from my own Candy buffet...
My "SWEET TOOTH" Birthday party. PhotobucketPhotobucket
Here are a few things tips from planning a candy buffet.

Use clear, glass jars, vases, jugs
whatever as long as it's clear.
This shows all the colors of the candies and makes
the buffet look prettier.
Get them in different shapes and sizes ,
so it creates dimension.
they are cheaper then getting them from
a bridal store or interior design store.
I went with the giant cocktail glasses,
some fish bowls.
If you are having a color scheme,
get candies in those colors.
If your event is outside,
stay away from candies that will melt, duh,
like chocolate or yogurt covered candies.
Hard covered candies are the best,
because they come in many colors,
they are easy to scoop and less messy.

Expect to spend at least $150-200
dollars on candy or maybe more,
yes candy is pretty and may seem cheap,
but in the end it all adds up.
Each person will eat about 2lbs each.
You still want the buffet to
look full and to show there is enough candy,
so do go all out on the buffet,
i mean it is a buffet right?
Buy candy in bulk,
like in BJ's .Wal-mart always has
the best candy sells..
YUMMY. Start looking early for the kinds
of candy you want,
so you can make sure the store you are
going to will have them. Planning a
Candy Buffet should be fun, IT'S CANDY,
who doesn't love it?
Everyone becomes five all over again
when it's time to get some candy.

The kind of candies i had,
were the ones i grew up with or just my fave.
Anything from Wonka i love,
skittles, giant lollipops, Tooties Roll,
Gummy Bears where a big hit...lol
I also had boxed candy, and wrapped ones,
that way you do not worry about people's
hands all over the candy.
For open candies,
like the skittles, gummies..etc..use a scooper.
Whatever you do,
just make it your own, and HAVE FUN!

Here are some awesome
candy buffet's pictures i found in the web.
Because these pics are everywhere
the real credit sources vanishes,
but if you see ur pics here and want credit,
do let me know.
