Starry Starry Night

There's nothing more beautiful then seeing a fashion designer be inspired by one of my favorite artist: Vincent Van Gogh. I speak of Mattijs, who's fall 2014 collection during MBFW in Amsterdam was inspired by Van Gogh's colors and subjects(sunflower, Iris) Van Gogh's images were blown up to create abstract prints and patterns. I love the mood and scenary that was created as well along the runway. It truly captured what a Van Gogh painting brings to the viewer, especially the mood when gazing at the colors he typically used: Raw umber, raw sienna, olive green, chrome yellow, vermillion, prussian blue, china blue, emerald green, red lake and black.

Deep inside we all wish to get on a plane and go far away from the world we know and land on another. While in high school I use to order free travel magazines with hopes that some day i'll make it there. I'm still dreaming…lol. I've done my share of traveling to South/Central America, but I still have a few magical places on my bucket list. There is a world out there and I only hope to see it all someday.
